Hello Everyone, they call me Mr. Kisses, and I am a little boy basset hound. My real name is Wilbur, however because I am the most lovable and sweet boy giving everyone non-stop kisses, they have given me this silly name!
When I was growing up, from just a little puppy, I started having difficulty walking. After my Daddy took me to the vet and spent a month's worth of paychecks on me, they told us I had problems with all of my little legs. The surgury was successful and my other legs healed as I grew from a puppy into a boy basset hound.
Everyone that sees me thinks I am just adorable, so I am going to show you some pictures of myself and life growing up in Wisconsin. Keep checking back and look for more of my photos and adventures!
My favorite hobby is kissing knees. I follow my Daddy around the house and lick his knees, first his right, then his left. I don't know why I do this, but they say I am a silly boy.
In late July of 2011 I nearly died from a case of Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis (HGE), a disease that went from near normal to almost fatal within 6 hours. Fortunately my Daddy rushed me to an emergency hospital, where I was in intensive care for 5 days. The vets were not optimistic. They had me hooked up to 4 IV drips, a line in my jugular vein and a feeding tube in my nose. I remember nothing during those days except my Daddy at my side, day and night talking to me (he would peek in under my closed eyelids and talk to me). I was out of the hospital in eight days and it took me many weeks to get back to normal. During my stay I was diagnosed with atypical Addison's disease as well, which may have been the underlying cause of the near fatal HGE. So now I will live with Addison's disease, as I get tested frequently and stay on my medication. The vets tell my Daddy I will live a normal live if he keep taking care of me and gives me my pills.
